| Pay Scale | Pay Level-07 as per 7th CPC |
| Age | Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Castes (OBC) candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Note- Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Government Servant upto 05 years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. | Essential Qualification (s) |
A. Educational- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised University of institution. B. Experience- 02 years experience in core Mining activity in- a) Supervisory position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines, which includes the period as Graduate or Management or Junior Trainee Engineer or b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in level-6 in the pay matrix (Rs. 35400-112400) or above. Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. |
| Desirable Qualification (s) | Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution. |
| Duty(ies) | Inspection of mines for systematic development, conservation of minerals and protection of mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and rules made thereunder. To prefer court complaints for violations of Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act and rules made thereunder. To advise the mine owners on the adoption of appropriate technology for prospecting and mining, utilization of low grade minerals and rejects, protection of environment in mining areas, beneficiation of minerals. To monitor the mining activities in accordance with the approved mining plan/scheme of mining. |
