Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level-12 as per 7th CPC
Age   Not exceeding 45 years as on normal closing date. Note- Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto 05 years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paragraphs of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.’
Essential Qualification (s)   (i) Degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering from a recognised University or equivalent.

*The Interpretation of “EQUIVALENT’ here means any Technical Institution recognised by AICTE/UGC and not be construed as Educational Qualification.

(ii) 10 years practical experience in design/installation/construction of ships.

Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   (a) Execute all technical, professional and administrative work as a drawing/design group leader of a project.
(b) Evaluation and feasibility study of design, laying down design standards and specifications.
(c) Co-ordination selection of Mechanical/Marine Engineering equipment for new construction ships.
(d) Monitor various activities related to ship construction.
Probation   01 (One) year

Other Details   General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions   All India Service liability.
