Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (Rs.56100-177500)
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   (A) Educational-

Master’s degree in Burmese language from a recognised University or Institution.

(B) Experience-

One year experience in teaching or translation from Burmese language to English or Hindi or vice-versa.

Note 1- Candidates possessing Diploma or Interpretership in Burmese will be considered if they hold Masters Degree in any discipline with English as a medium of Instruction.

Note 2- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)   Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Burmese Language from a recognized university.
Duty(ies)   • To teach Foreign Languages to a very high standard including the Interpreter-ship standard.
• Setting of question papers for various examinations.
Probation   One Year

Other Details   General Central Service, Group A’, Gazetted Non- Ministerial, this post is to be filled on permanent basis.
