Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 10 (Rs. 56,100-1,75,200/-) in the Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC. (Total Emoluments excluding T.A. & H.R.A. at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately)
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central /UT Government servants upto five years as per the instructions /orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational-

(i) Masters degree in Horticulture or Agriculture (with Horticulture as one of the subject) or Botany or Agriculture Botany from a recognized University or institute or

(ii) Bachelors degree in Horticulture or Agriculture or Botany with post-graduate diploma in Horticulture or Landscape Architecture from a recognized University or institute.

Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.


B. Experience -

05 years experience in Horticulture including ornamental gardening or landscaping in the Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administrations or autonomous body or statutory organization or public Sector undertakings or recognized University or institute.

Note- There shall be a mandatory induction training for direct recruits and promotees of at least two weeks duration for successful completion of the probation as prescribed by the Central Government.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   To function as Administrative head of Division exercising such of the administrative and financial power as delegated to him from time to time, also to function as Technical head of the Horticultural division and ensure for the proper executing of Horticultural works in the Division. Also to ensure for the proper maintenance stock of machinery, tool, plants, equipment, and livestock etc.
Probation   1 year (Note- There shall be a mandatory induction training for direct recruits and promotees of at least two weeks duration for successful completion of the probation as prescribed by the Central Government)
Headquarters   New Delhi liable to serve All India
Other Details   The post is permanent, General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
Any Other Conditions   Candidate selected for the post will, during the period of probation, be required to undergo training as per requirement of the job prescribed by the Archaeological Survey.
