Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Level-10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500/-) in pay matrix. Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- plus DA as applicable approximately
Age   Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UTs Govt. Servants upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. Educational:- Masters Degree in Geology from a Recognised University or Institute.

NOTE - Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience:- Possessing three years experience in Geology.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Works related to physical and structural geology, stress-strain and rheological properties of rocks, classification of folds and faults, and classification of rocks. Carrying out study of toposheets, stereographic projections, mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy and hydrogeology. Conducting field tests, collection of samples from the project sites, conducting laboratory tests, compilation of tests results, preparation of reports, formulation of project proposals, Research and Development activities, publication of research papers and collection and maintenance of data base on the area of activities.
Probation   One year
Headquarters   Central Soil and Materials Research Station, New Delhi with All India Service Liability.
Other Details   The post is General Central Service, Group-‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
