Post Description

Pay Scale	Level 11 (Rs. 67,700-1,50,800/-) in the Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC. (Total Emoluments excluding T.A. & H.R.A. at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 67,700/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately)
Age	Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date for UR, EWS & SC category candidates. Not exceeding 43 years for OBC candidates and 45 years for Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)	Essential- A. Educational- (i) Masters degree in Law with specialization in the field of International Law or International Relations or International Organizations from a recognized University. Note 1- Candidates having specialization in International Law in M.Phil or Ph.D level, but not at Masters level will also be eligible. Note 2- International Law would, inter-alia, include, major areas of International Law such as Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, International Environmental Law, International Criminal Law and International Trade Law. B. Experience- 05 years experience as a practicing Advocate in a Court of law in India or in the legal services of the Government or teaching or conducting or guiding research in the field of International Law or international relations from recognized university or institute after acquiring minimum educational qualification. Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2- The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)	Certificate course (at least 6 months duration) in one or two foreign languages other than English.
Duty(ies)	To assist Legal and Treaties Division on Legal aspects concerning Indias International Treaties, Laws of seas, rivers etc.
