Post Description

Pay Scale	(Rs. 56100-177500) (LEVEL-10)
Age	Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)	A. EDUCATIONAL- (i) Masters degree from a recognised University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR Master’s degree from a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR Master’s degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR Master’s degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of a examination at the degree level OR Master’s degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level. Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. B. EXPERIENCE- (ii) Three years experience of using or applying terminology (terminological work) in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice-versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature under Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or Autonomous Body or Statutory Organizations or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or recognised research or educational institutions. OR Three years experience of teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English under Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or autonomous bodies or statutory Organizations or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or recognized research or educational institutions. Note-The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them”.
Desirable Qualification (s)	Studied one of the languages other than Hindi included in the EIGHTH SCHEDULE of the Constitution at 10th level from a recognized Board. Note-Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Duty(ies)	Vetting and supervising the translation works done by his junior officers. To Assist his senior officers in the hierarchy in the implementation of official language policies framed from time to time.
Probation	Two years.
Headquarters	New Delhi Headquarter with all India service liability.
Other Details	The post is permanent and classified as Central Secretariat Official Language Services (CSOLS) under the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Group “A” Gazetted.
