Post Description

Pay Scale   Level 7 in the Pay matric of 7th CPC (Rs.44,900-1,42,400) total emoluments (excluding HRA&TA)-Rs.44,900 plus DA as applicable per month
Age   Not exceeding 30 years for General and EWS Category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Schedule Castes candidates as normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backwards Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. Of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   Degree in law of a recognized University

Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to record in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   Assistant Public Prosecutor will perform all such duties which are allotted by Deputy Legal Adviser/Senior Public Prosecutor in consultation with Head of Branch. Assistant Public Prosecutor will conduct persecution of cases, allotted by Senior Public Prosecutor. Assistant Public Prosecutor will submit Court diaries and keep the Senior Public Prosecutor and Head of Branch informed of all developments in cases. Assistant Public Prosecutor will ensure maintenance of records and registers and prepare such statements, returns and reports as may be directed by the Senior Public Prosecutor or Head of Branch. Assistant Public Prosecutor will give comments on Final Reports.
Probation   Two years
Headquarters   CBI’s Head Quarters at New Delhi. However, candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India.
Other Details   General Central Service Group ‘B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
