Post Description

Pay Scale   Pay Scale Rs. 15600-39100 plus GP 6600/- & Level-11 (Rs. 67700-208700) in the pay matrix of 7th CPC plus NPA.
Age   Not exceeding 48 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of number of vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 50 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of number of vacancies reserved for them. Note- Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)   A. EDUCATIONAL-

(a) A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part-II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

(b) Post graduate degree/diploma in the concerned specialty mentioned in Schedule VI or equivalent i.e., i.e., (Post Graduate Degree-M.D. (Obstetrics & Gynae.) or M.S. (Obstetrics & Gynae.) or M.D. (Mid & Gynaecology) or M.S. (Mid & Gynaecology) or M.O. or M.R.C.O.G. or Speciality Board of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (USA) or (Post Graduate Diploma- D.G.O.).

B. EXPERIENCE-
Three years experience in the concerned speciality after obtaining the post graduate degree or 5 years experience after obtaining the post graduate diploma.

NOTE-1 The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

NOTE-2 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates belonging to SC if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  
Duty(ies)   (i) To render patient care in the specialty.
(ii) To conduct and guide research work in the specialty.
(iii) Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time.
