Post Description
| Pay Scale | Level-7 (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400/-) in the Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 44,900/-p.m. plus DA as applicable) |
| Age | Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for PwBDs as on normal closing date. Note Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto Five years’ as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. | Essential Qualification (s) |
A. Educational Master’s degree in Chemistry or Associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination* or Biochemistry or Pharmacology or Pharmacy or Forensic Science with Chemistry ** as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelors of Science Level from a recognized university. B. Experience Three years experience in research and analytical work in the field of Toxicology in any central and state organization or recognized institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Government and State Government. Note- (i)*Associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination qualification will be applicable only for the departmental scientists available on the date of notification of RR (Amendment) ** It is clarified that Chemistry as one of the subjects at B.Sc. is required only for holders of M.Sc. (Forensic Science). |
| Desirable Qualification (s) | Experience of working in a forensic science laboratory. |
| Duty(ies) | Crime Case Examination, giving evidences in the Court of Law, Crime Scene Examination, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, R&D activitites on Forensic Science and imparting training in the respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies/forensic science labs and other organizations. |

| Headquarters | Head Quarter is at New Delhi with Laboratory at Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kamrup (Assam), Pune & Bhopal. In connection with performing duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of India. |

| Any Other Conditions | 1. Leprosy cured persons are suitable for the post of Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology) in CFSLs subject to the condition that upper limbs are functioning normally. 2. Dwarfism persons are suitable for the post of Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology) in CFSLs subject to normal mental status. 3. Acid Attack victims are suitable for the post of Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology) in CFSLs provided their vision, mental status and hearing have not been impaired. * 01 Vacancy is horizontally reserved for PwBD subcategories LV, HH, BL, OL, OA, OLA, LC, DW, AAV, SD & SI. ** However, the said vacancy is a backlog PwBD reserved vacancy & governed by existing guidelines. |
